As Capstone Convergence progresses, the University is launching a series of Readiness Workshops to help faculty and staff prepare for upcoming system and process changes.
Beginning this month, we are so excited to provide workshops that will help build awareness and understanding ahead of formal training and system implementation. Sessions will focus on upcoming changes associated with Workday and CORE (Collaborative Operations & Research Ecosystem), helping employees understand what is changing, why it matters and how to prepare.
These workshops are designed to give you an early look at upcoming changes and introduce key Workday and CORE concepts before implementation. Formal, role-based training will be provided closer to go-live, when employees are preparing to use the new systems in their day-to-day work.
The series begins September 23 with Workday 101: Employee Self-Service (ESS), an introductory session covering Workday navigation, employee self-service features, key terminology and supervisory organization concepts. Participants will get their very first look at the modern, user-friendly employee experience and become familiar with the software before formal Workday training begins. They can also ask questions and share feedback along the way.
Some sessions will provide broad overviews, while others will focus on specific areas. Upcoming topics:
- September 23 – Workday 101: Employee Self Service | Employee self-service features, navigation, and Supervisory Organizations (how people are organized).
- October 28 – Workday 101: Foundation Data Model and Reporting | Overview of the Foundation Data Model (how finances are organized in Workday) and Workday reporting functionality.
- December 2 – Workday 101: Security Roles | Workday security and an introduction to the concept of “security roles” (how we determine who has access to what).
Can’t attend live? No problem. All Readiness Workshops will be recorded and made available through UA LMS within a few days after each session. Employees who view the recording will receive the same Change Champion Program credit as those who attend live, making it easy to participate on your own schedule.
Employees will also learn:
- What’s changing across HR, finance, and research systems
- What those changes mean for your role
- How to prepare your area for upcoming changes
- Where to find updates, resources, and support
Additional workshops will be offered on other key concepts related to Workday and CORE.
By participating in Readiness Workshops, employees will earn digital badges and digital coins that can be exchanged for rewards as part of our Change Champion program.
