Capstone Convergence is The University of Alabama’s effort to make everyday work simpler, faster and more connected for faculty and staff.
As part of UA’s Future Ready Flagship vision, Capstone Convergence is modernizing the systems and processes related to human resources, finance, payroll, research administration, compliance, reporting and cybersecurity. The goal is to create a better employee experience while providing the University with the tools and information needed to support future success.
This is more than a technology project. It’s a university-wide transformation designed to improve how work gets done across campus.
What’s Changing?
Capstone Convergence includes several major initiatives working together to create a more connected and efficient campus experience:
- Workday—A modern platform that brings HR, finance, and payroll activities together in one place, making everyday tasks easier to complete and information easier to find.
- CORE (Collaborative Operations & Research Ecosystem)—A new approach to research administration and compliance that will streamline processes, improve collaboration and reduce manual work.
- Okta—A secure sign-in experience that strengthens cybersecurity while making it easier to access University applications.
- Data & Reporting—Enhanced reporting tools and analytics that provide more reliable information and support better decision-making across campus.
- Connected Technology—New integration and data solutions will help University systems work together more seamlessly, reducing duplicate effort and improving data consistency.
