What’s Next for Workday at Capstone Convergence

Capstone Convergence is a multi-year effort to modernize and connect UA’s core administrative systems in support of our Future Ready Flagship vision. Workday is scheduled to go live in February 2028 along with a new research administration tool. Here’s a simple look at what comes next.

Planning and Preparation: Now through 2027
Teams are preparing for the transition by reviewing current processes, configuring Workday and the new research system and building the training and tools faculty and staff will need. This work helps ensure the systems are set up correctly and ready for campus use.

Training and Readiness: 2027 through early 2028
As we get closer to go live, you’ll start receiving more detailed information based on your role. Training, workshops and hands-on practice will help you learn what’s changing. Leaders and supervisors will also get support to help their teams prepare.

Go Live: February 2028
Workday will become UA’s system for HR, payroll and finance and the new research administration tool will go live at the same time. Support teams will be available to answer questions and help you get comfortable using the new systems.

Stabilization and Support: After Go live
Following launch, you’ll continue to receive support as you adjust. Additional training and resources will be available and teams will monitor performance and make improvements to keep things running smoothly.

Continuous Improvement: Ongoing
Capstone Convergence doesn’t stop at go live. UA will continue to refine processes, add new features and improve how systems support faculty and staff over time.

What This Means for Faculty and Staff
This timeline is designed to support you every step of the way. You’ll continue to receive updates so you know what’s coming and how to prepare. Staying engaged and taking advantage of training will help ensure a smooth transition as we move toward a more connected, Future Ready campus.
