Starting Local, Going Big: Meet the Teams Powering Change

Big changes are coming to how work gets done at The University of Alabama, and a strong support network is already in place to help faculty and staff navigate what’s ahead.

Capstone Convergence officially launched the Change Network and Readiness Teams during the June 9 kickoff event at the Bryant Conference Center, bringing together representatives from 24 colleges and divisions across campus. This milestone reflects UA’s people-first approach to change, making sure every area has a voice and the support needed to be ready.

Capstone Convergence supports UA’s Future Ready Flagship vision by modernizing systems like HR, finance and research administration including the implementation of Workday and the CORE research administration system. While these updates will make everyday work more connected, consistent and easier to manage, the focus is not just on the systems, it is on people. The goal is to ensure faculty and staff understand what is changing, why it matters and how to prepare.

The Change Network plays an important role in that effort by connecting the Capstone Convergence program to colleges, divisions and teams across campus. It helps share clear, relevant updates, brings forward questions and feedback and supports how changes are adopted locally.

At the same time, Readiness Teams provide support within each college and division. With members representing 24 colleges and divisions, these teams help make sure support is close to home. They work within their areas to prepare for upcoming changes, share updates in ways that make sense locally and serve as a go-to resource when questions come up. They also help teams adjust to new processes as they are introduced.

Faculty and staff can find their Readiness Team members on the Capstone Convergence website, making it easier to get answers specific to their area, stay informed and share feedback.

There are also simple ways to stay connected more broadly. Updates and resources are available on the Capstone Convergence website, with additional information shared through the Capstone Convergence Connection newsletter, events, workshops and upcoming learning opportunities.

Together, the Change Network and Readiness Teams reflect UA’s people-first approach to supporting change and advancing the Future Ready Flagship vision. By staying engaged and using the resources available, faculty and staff can play an active role in building a more connected, efficient and Future Ready University.
